Sensei Ruiter’s History

Sensei Jon Ruiter began his martial arts journey in 1989 under Iha Sensei while attending Michigan State University. Earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Packaging from MSU, Mr. Ruiter relocated and eventually ended up in Holland.

Jon began training with Sensei Fabiano in 1997. Working hard and showing extreme dedication for the art of Karate, Mr. Ruiter earned his Black Belt in 2000 and also began instructing classes alongside Sensei Fabiano at this time.

In his spare time, he enjoys camping, kayaking, bonsai, bicycling, and gardening. Sensei Ruiter is Fabiano’s Karate’s Head Instructor and teaches both Children and Adult classes.  Sensei Ruiter is also a student of Brazillian Jiu Jitsu.

Sensei Ruiter is now the owner of Fabiano’s Karate, taking over the Dojo in 2015 and trains under Sensei John Hutchcroft of the O.V.K.A.
