| Dear Master Ung:
I truly enjoy taking classes at your school. I’ve learned life values that not only help me to defend myself, but also help me along with my journey through my life. Thank you for your never ending encouragement respect to all the students, even when they sometimes don’t deserve the pect. I have often enjoy your music and laughter that is shared to the students. The music does act as a motivate for me. Thank you. More over, the time and effort you put into social events are welcomed. Although I’ve only been to the bowling events. I still think its a great way of getting everyone together as a class. And lastly you and Mr. Rich are a dynamic duel! you both work well together, and show great respect towards each others.

THE DARK SIDE
OF MARTIAL ARTS
These are usually schools who's sole goal is to part you from your
money without ever imparting any real Martial Arts knowledge. These can sometimes be difficult to detect since part of the successful money student separation is to convince the student that useful information is, in fact, being taught while devising ever more ways to implement the money student separation. This separation is often achieved by having fee afterand required expenditures on and on and on. For instance, schools that require you to buy only their branded uniforms and gear, require you to sign long conntracts, have no "refund" option in their contract, or high-pressure sales pitches. Another common tactic is to have numerous belt test requirements and sub-ranks, all with a fee, non-refundable if the student "flunks" his test. An example would be a school which has students ranked, "Second Stripe, Decided, Green Belt" or similar. These schools may also require weekend training trips. Besides the red flags listed above, a few other's that may indicatea "McDojo" include: Any school that promises you a Black Belt in under 4 years or routinely produces Black Belts in 2 years. Any school which seems to
have overly young or inexperienced experts (usually "Black Belts") - for example a school recently made the news, noteworthy because they had just promoted a three year old toddler to "Black Belt" and they had a five year old child as a 2nd Dan (second degree) "Black Belt."

| PASTOR:
AARON VRIESMAN MARTIAL ARTS @ THE CHURCH
My name is Aaron Vriesman and I am the (solo) pastor at North Blendon hristian Reformed Church in Hudsonville. I have been pastor at North Blendon for two and a half years. While studying in seminary, I joined Ung’s School of Martial Arts in early 2002, having previously studied martial arts for 8 consecutive years. I earned a 1st Dan Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do on September 6, 2003 from Master Eang Ung. For the past year, I have been teaching a martial arts class through my church. The class is for children at least 7 years old and has gone remarkably well. The class started with nine students and almost a year later we now have 20 students – of which nearly half are from outside our church. I operate this class under the supervision of Master Eang Ung, who administers the testing for the students’ advancement towards higher ranks and belts. Master Ung gives his guidance to me as I seek to improve my skills as an instructor and leader of the class. The students are visibly improving in their technique, discipline and general character. Parents have told me their child’s grades in school have improved since joining the class, and that their behavior at home has also improved. I am grateful to Master Ung for all of his assistance in starting this class and I hope to continue holding this class for as long as I can.

| WINNER GRAND RAPIDS NATIONAL BOBY BUILDING COMPERTITION:
Ever since I saw that karate movie on TV with the slow movements I thought they could be tied into a Body building routine. I thought one routine looked great! I can say it was definitely unique! I can really appreciated of your help. You were so eager and enthusiastic to help me and that really drove me to make sure my movements looked good to you. I have total respect for martial arts and the discipline that’s involved with it. In many ways that’s what it took for me to take my weight training to that level. I can’t tell you what an incredible experience this whole show has been for me. Winning not only one but two trophies is more that I could have dreamed of. It was great to have your support.

| HOW TO FIND THE RIGT MARTIAL ARTS SCHOOL:
Check your telephone directory to see what kinds of schools are listed within a reasonable distance. Call the Schools and ask whether they're affiliated with a larger organization, such as the International Tae Kwon Do Federation or the World Karate association. If not, standards and methods for advancement may be inconsistent. Also will hurt you in the future. Determine your martial arts goals. Are you interested in
tournament forms or self defense? Do you want to become a black belt or to attend classes simply for the exercise? Stop by several training halls to watch classes. Ask for permission to talk with students and instructors. Find out how student experiences have been with the school and whether the instructors' styles will support your goals. Assess the quality of teaching. What is your impression of the head instructor? Do
instructors expect and show respect and courtesy? What is their experience? Determine the school's emphasis. Does it advocate control or heavy contact? Does it stress tournament competition? How formal or informal are the lasses? Ask friends and worker whether they've heard anything about a martial arts school you're interested in Joining. Also check with the Better Business Bureau. Our school base on minority not majority which mean students who are seriously about martial arts lesson that will help build their self connfident for a long life. We are not a soccer team, T-ball, or any type of sports. We are so confident that you only pay month to month lesson. If your child decided to take a break or stop the lesson, you shouldn't have to pay. Those schools that sign contract, they have fear that you will leave them some day. Viewed: 113 times.
